Objectives

In implementing the KA131 project, we wanted to achieve, above all, an increase in the degree of internationalization of the university through the mobility of students and staff to the program countries, as well as through the development of incoming mobility and “internationalization at home” activities. Our goal was not only to increase the number of mobility opportunities compared to the previous project, but also to expand the group of participants to include first-time travelers, both among students and teaching and administrative staff. Through the implementation of mobility, we wanted to improve the quality of education at the university through the transfer of good practices from partner institutions, as well as to support the development of language, soft, and intercultural skills of program participants. Another important goal was to promote PSW and the Polish education system internationally, increase the university's recognition in partner networks, and lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation and joint projects. Together with one of our partners from Bulgaria, we have also successfully applied twice for projects under KA220, and we are really proud of this, as these will be our first projects under KA220. We also managed to apply for a project under KA152 with a partner from Turkey, and this application was also successful, which will involve our students traveling to Turkey. The project was also intended to contribute to better preparing students for the labor market, especially in regulated professions, by familiarizing them with European standards of education and professional practice. Ultimately, our goal was not only to implement mobility, but also to build the openness, prestige, and attractiveness of PSW as a student- and employee-friendly university for students and employees from Poland and abroad. PSW also has broader cooperation with institutions outside Europe, which is why we are intensifying our activities in Europe, e.g., by joining the Baltic University Programme, and one mobility was also allocated to participate in the BUP project. Our goal was to achieve 100% of the planned mobility, but we encountered some difficulties. Nevertheless, our information activities have brought benefits in the form of an increase in the number of participants going abroad for the first time, not only among the administration and teaching staff, but also among students, as for the first time in a long time we managed to organize a trip for 5 students to the Blended Intensive Program in Bulgaria. Nevertheless, we still observe resistance to teaching mobility (STA) in favor of training mobility (STT), which is preferred by employees in the context of participation in international events organized by partners. However, we came very close to filling all the places allocated for teaching trips. We also made intensive efforts to send students on short-term trips, especially to BIP programs, which are very popular. Unfortunately, we often encountered problems related to late notification by partners about organized events and high ticket costs, exceeding the financial capabilities of students, as well as difficulties related to the legal stay of international students in Poland. Through this project, we wanted to increase the attractiveness of Poland and PSW as a destination for foreign students, in connection with the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program, as well as to better prepare students for the labor market—especially in regulated professions such as nursing—through international experience and knowledge of European standards. We also wanted to organize a full-fledged BIP at our headquarters, but we were short of two participants, so we organized a 13-person BIP, and next year we hope to organize a BIP with the minimum number of mandatory participants.
