By implementing the Erasmus+ project as the Wyższa Szkoła Lingwistyczna (University of Linguistics), our primary aim was to provide our students, as well as academic and administrative staff, with opportunities for comprehensive development and to strengthen the process of internationalisation of our institution. Our goal was to build an open, modern, and competitive higher education institution that actively participates in the European Education Area and reflects the values and objectives of the European community. Through the Erasmus+ project we wanted to achieve several key results: Increasing student mobility: enabling them to complete part of their studies and traineeships abroad, which fosters the acquisition of knowledge, professional experience, and soft skills in an international environment. This allows students to broaden their horizons, enhance their language and intercultural competences, and become more competitive on the labour market, both in Poland and across Europe. Developing competences of academic staff: through participation in teaching and training mobilities, our lecturers had the opportunity to learn about new teaching methods, innovative didactic tools, and to exchange good practices with partner universities. The aim was not only to improve the quality of teaching but also to inspire the entire academic community to introduce changes and modern solutions in the teaching process. Enhancing the qualifications of administrative staff: participation in trainings and mobilities enabled them to acquire new organisational, linguistic, and intercultural skills. As a result, they are better equipped to support students and staff in the internationalisation process and to improve the efficiency of the university’s day-to-day operations. Developing language and intercultural competences: the project aimed to strengthen foreign language communication skills and increase openness to cultural diversity. We believe that contact with representatives of different cultures and educational systems is a key element in educating modern graduates and university staff. Fostering European citizenship: we wanted our students and staff to experience that they belong not only to their local or national community, but also to the wider European community. Thanks to the project, participants could better understand the values of democracy, solidarity, openness, and cooperation, which form the foundation of the European Union. Ensuring equal opportunities: we placed particular emphasis on ensuring that students and staff from diverse economic backgrounds, social contexts, and with different individual needs could participate in the project. We considered equality of opportunity and inclusiveness as priorities, since Erasmus+ should be accessible to everyone who wishes to grow and take part in international exchange. Strengthening international cooperation and the reputation of the university: the project aimed to build lasting contacts with partner institutions and create cooperation networks that benefit both students and staff. As a result, the Wyższa Szkoła Lingwistyczna is becoming increasingly recognisable and attractive within the European educational space. Multiplier effect and inspiration for further work: every participant, upon returning from mobility, shared their experiences and knowledge with others. In this way, the project had a real impact on the development of the entire academic community, not just on those directly involved in the mobilities. In summary, by implementing the Erasmus+ project we aimed to support the development of students, lecturers, and administrative staff, to internationalise and enhance the quality of the educational process, and to contribute to building a modern higher education institution that actively cooperates within the European Higher Education Area. Our overarching goal was to integrate the Wyższa Szkoła Lingwistyczna into the process of creating an open, united, and solidary Europe, in which everyone – regardless of origin or circumstances – has equal opportunities for education, growth, and full participation in social life.
