Objectives

The implementation of the Erasmus+ project was an integral part of Kazimierz Wielki University’s internationalization strategy. Our goal was to strengthen the university’s position within the European educational space by: - increasing student mobility for the purpose of undertaking studies and/or traineeships at foreign universities and institutions, - enabling academic and administrative staff to participate in teaching and training mobilities (including combined types), - expanding the scope of cooperation with programme countries and increasing the number of mobilities carried out, - enhancing the quality and intensity of multilateral cooperation among higher education institutions across Europe, - developing professional, linguistic, and intercultural competencies of mobility participants, - promoting the concept of lifelong learning, - supporting participants in acquiring and effectively applying knowledge, skills, and qualifications in an international environment—with a view to their further personal and professional development (e.g., increasing employment opportunities through experience gained abroad), - creating opportunities for full immersion in an international environment, - enriching the educational process through the exchange of academic knowledge, experiences, and good practices, - fostering European awareness among participants and their engagement with the values of the European Union through direct participation in mobility activities. We tried to encourage students to participate in short-term intensive programmes. We were especially focused on mobilities for those who, for various reasons (were unwilling or unable to undertake long-term mobility stays). By carrying out the project, we aimed to contribute to building a lasting culture of mobility and international openness within the university community. We believe that mobility is not only an opportunity to travel abroad but also a catalyst for change—both at the individual level and within the institution as a whole. Furthermore, we aimed to promote equal opportunities, strengthen the process of internationalization at home, support the integration of the academic community, and increase the visibility of Kazimierz Wielki University, the city of Bydgoszcz, and the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region on the academic map of Europe.
