The Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (aMuz) systematically strives to develop its internationalization. In the Mission, Vision, Values, and Development Strategy of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (aMuz) for 2025-2030, internationalization has been identified as one of the key areas. The Academy's Vision provides guidance in this area, and states: „Locating our headquarters in Gdańsk, long known as the ‘window to the world,’ commits us to building strong and valuable relationships with partners in Poland and abroad. We broadly promote musical culture and the concept of social responsibility, and continually expand opportunities for students and graduates to interact with the labour market. We view internationalization as a crucial element of the continuous improvement of the quality of education, teaching and research development, and increasing the competitiveness of aMuz. We create a transnational space for collaboration, which is particularly important for artists seeking inspiration, new forms of expression, and ways to strengthen their creativity.” Projects implemented under the Erasmus/Erasmus+ Programme for over 25 years have been an indispensable instrument for the Academy to implement this concept and support the creation of a global community of musicians. The Academy collaborates closely with international music centers and is a member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC). The project’s primary objectives were to achieve the quantitative and qualitative goals outlined in the agreement with the National Agency, taking into account experiences from previous projects, good practices, and the National Agency’s recommendations included in the evaluation of previous reports. Through mobility, the Academy aimed to, among other things: enrich the educational offer through the opportunity to complete part of studies at a partner institution, strengthen students’ potential on the future labour market through traineeships, develop academic staff, broadly defined academic cooperation, strengthen the Academy’s image in an international context, and co-create an international academic environment. Also, an important outcome was increasing visibility of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the European sphere of higher music and artistic education, which facilitates the development of the Academy’s internationalization and attracting students and faculty from abroad.
