The mobility project implemented by the University of Lodz represents a long-term, systemic institutional policy aimed at consistently strengthening the international scope of education, research, and academic competence development. In response to the challenges of globalisation, the University of Lodz creates conditions conducive to the active participation of students and staff in the international transfer of knowledge, experience, and values. Mobility, as a tool of academic transformation, enables members of the University of Lodz community to acquire competencies in culturally and organisationally diverse environments, fostering attitudes of openness, dialogue, and tolerance. In this context, the project not only supports the individual development of participants but also enhances the institutional capacity of the University of Lodz as an inclusive, dynamic, and adaptable academic space in a rapidly changing world. During the reporting period, the University of Lodz once again successfully implemented both long-term and short-term mobility initiatives, including innovative Blended Intensive Programmes. Four intensive educational programmes involving international students exemplified the effective deployment of modern teaching formats that combine in-person and online components. These activities align with the University’s strategic goals, which include expanding the educational offer, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting interdisciplinarity. The mobility project is an integral part of the University of Lodz’s engagement within the Erasmus+ programme, serving as a catalyst for the development of institutional partnerships. Academic staff mobility facilitates the establishment of lasting relationships with international universities, which often evolve into joint research and educational projects. The University plays both partner and coordinator roles in these collaborations, reflecting its growing stature within the European Higher Education Area. A central objective of the project remains the development of participants’ competencies — professional, social, cultural, and linguistic — in ways that respond to the demands of the contemporary labour market and broader societal challenges. Students gain practical and cultural knowledge through exposure to different educational systems and local realities, enriching their professional profiles. Academic staff benefit from teaching in new didactic contexts, encouraging reflection on pedagogical methods and deepening subject expertise. Administrative staff, through participation in international training programmes, enhance their professional, communicative, and organisational skills, contributing to the increased operational efficiency of the University. Language development is also a key component of the project. Mobility participants improve their proficiency in English and other European languages such as Spanish, French, and Italian, which directly impacts the quality of support provided to international students. The ability to communicate in the native language of incoming guests significantly facilitates their adaptation, reduces cultural stress, and promotes faster integration into the academic environment. International mobility also fosters intercultural competencies, which are essential in the context of an increasingly transnational labour market. Courses and internships abroad develop the ability to work in multicultural teams, cognitive flexibility, and the capacity to operate in complex environments. Graduates of the University of Lodz, equipped with such skills, are better prepared to meet professional challenges in a dynamically evolving global landscape. Simultaneously, the project contributes to the enhancement of academic and administrative staff performance, reflected in the improvement of teaching and organisational processes. These outcomes increase the attractiveness of the University’s educational offer and intensify its internationalisation through the growing presence of international students and staff. The creation of a multicultural academic environment enriches the institution with new perspectives, ideas, and practices, positioning it as a modern, open, and globally oriented university. Additionally, the mobility project serves as a bridge between formal education and professional practice, enabling participants to gain experiences that extend beyond traditional academic frameworks. Collaboration with international institutions, participation in international project teams, and exposure to diverse working methods provide added value by strengthening transferable skills and enhancing the adaptability of graduates and staff within the European labour market. The implementation of project KA131-2023 has enabled the achievement of all the objectives outlined above.
