Objectives

The project implemented by SGH Warsaw School of Economics under the Erasmus+ KA131 programme in 2023 continued the university’s long-standing efforts in the field of internationalisation of education and the development of academic competences in an international environment, as outlined in the SGH Internationalisation Strategy. Its main objective was to enable SGH students and staff to gain educational and professional experience at partner institutions abroad, thereby enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and university management in the spirit of European academic cooperation. The project focused on developing key areas of SGH’s activity – teaching, research, and academic administration. It provided mobility opportunities for two main groups of participants: students undertaking study or traineeship periods abroad, and academic and administrative staff participating in teaching and training mobilities. These activities aimed not only to transfer knowledge and experience but also to strengthen participants’ intercultural, linguistic, and organisational competences, forming an integral part of SGH’s broader internationalisation strategy. A key objective of the project was to ensure high-quality organisational and administrative support at all stages of mobility implementation. The university modernised recruitment and reporting processes, introduced digital tools, and simplified administrative procedures. These improvements aimed to increase accessibility to the Erasmus+ Programme and to enhance the overall experience and comfort of participants. Close cooperation with partner institutions also provided academic and mentoring support, enabling participants to prepare effectively for studying or working in an international environment. Another strategic goal of the project was to strengthen collaboration with international academic institutions and institutional partners. Through the Erasmus+ framework, SGH expanded its educational and research partnerships both within Europe and beyond. Special emphasis was placed on cooperation within the CIVICA European University Alliance, which promotes the creation of joint educational and research initiatives, staff exchanges, and the development of an integrated European higher education area. The project also had a social dimension, supporting “internationalisation at home” through an expanded range of courses taught in English and the integration of international and Polish students via joint cultural, mentoring, and community activities. As a result, the project’s objectives extended beyond traditional mobility, fostering openness, tolerance, and intercultural cooperation across the entire SGH community. In summary, the Erasmus+ KA131 project at SGH Warsaw School of Economics was aimed at enhancing participant competences, strengthening the institutional potential of the university, and building sustainable international partnerships. Its objectives were fully aligned with SGH’s long-term internationalisation strategy, focused on creating an open, competitive, and academically excellent environment for study and research.
