The implementation of the Erasmus+ KA131 project was closely linked to the mission and development strategy of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. The main objective of the project was to support the internationalisation of the University’s educational activities and to strengthen its international cooperation, in line with the UMCS Strategy for 2019–2025, which emphasizes maintaining a high level of internationalisation in education. In the part concerning staff, the project was also consistent with the Strategy for enhancing the competences of teaching staff and those supporting the educational process. The implementation of the project made it possible to carry out the internationalisation strategy of the teaching process at UMCS (Erasmus code: PL LUBLIN01). This meant striving to maintain a stable, high level of internationalisation in studies and to promote UMCS’s educational offer internationally. In practice, the goal was to increase the number of direct international contacts among students and staff, which translates into greater academic mobility and more frequent educational exchanges. The project also made it possible to sustain and further expand long-standing academic, teaching, and research cooperation with partner universities in programme countries. Through the mobility of students and teaching staff, UMCS strengthened existing partnerships and established new ones, which fostered the exchange of experiences and good practices within the Erasmus+ network. The activities foreseen in the project contributed to enriching the educational experiences of both students and staff. A higher number of people with international experience at the University contributes to maintaining high-quality education based on a global perspective. The aim was for a significant group of UMCS students and staff to gain experience abroad, which in turn enhances intercultural competences, teaching quality, and the University’s standing in the international academic community. All goals and activities were embedded in the long-term development strategy of UMCS, reinforcing its position on the map of European higher education. Thanks to the Erasmus+ KA131 project, UMCS maintained and further developed a high degree of internationalisation—both in terms of its educational offer and the competences of its academic community—which is a key element in the implementation of the UMCS Development Strategy for 2019–2025.
