Objectives

The Krakow University of Economics (KUE), by implementing the Erasmus+ international mobility project KA131 2023 for students and staff, aimed to develop the university by pursuing several key strategic objectives set out in the “Strategy for the international mobility of staff and students of the Krakow University of Economics” and the “Erasmus Policy Declaration for 2021-2027,” which support the development of both the academic unit and the academic community as a whole by: 1. Improving the quality of education: By enabling students and staff to gain experience in an international academic environment, the university has created a framework for enriching the teaching process by introducing new teaching methods, diverse perspectives, and innovative approaches to problem solving. 2. Internationalization of the academic environment: Thanks to international exchange, the university was able to build recognition among foreign institutions and in the international academic community, which promotes the establishment of new partnerships and cooperation with foreign research centers. The implementation of the Erasmus+ project has helped to promote the UEK's teaching programs and research internationally, which has a direct impact on the expansion of the university's potential. Increasing the university's potential and international recognition attracts an increasing number of foreign students, which further strengthens its international position as an educational institution. In addition, the presence of foreign students and staff is an additional component of the development of the education process and an opportunity to broaden the experience of those who did not participate in the exchange with a multicultural context. 3. Development of intercultural competences: Participation in exchange programs promotes the acquisition of skills for working in an international, culturally diverse environment. This is not only an added value for students, but also for teaching and administrative staff, who can use these experiences for further personal and university development. 4. Increasing the competitiveness of graduates: Participation in mobility programs significantly increases students' chances on both the local and international labor markets. By supporting such initiatives, the university sought to equip its graduates with knowledge, skills, and experience that are highly valued by employers. 5. Improving academic and administrative staff: Enabling university employees to participate in foreign training and teaching programs allows them to improve their qualifications, which translates into better teaching quality, modernization of educational programs, and management at the university. By implementing the mobility project, the university sought to improve the quality of teaching, increase the attractiveness of its educational and research offer, and increase its international recognition, which is part of the university's long-term development strategy in a dynamically changing academic world.
