For over 75 years, the Medical University of Silesia, Katowice has been committed to the highest standards of education. It is a modern university that constantly modifies its educational offer. An important part of its strategy is the promotion of the university on the international markets, which is facilitated by its participation in the Erasmus+ Programme. The mobility of students and staff enables the exchange of experiences and information on teaching programmes, the transfer of knowledge, familiarisation with foreign healthcare systems, the deepening of cooperation with partner institutions and the acquisition of new partners. Programme participants emphasise that mobility contributes to the improvement of language skills, as well as to greater awareness of social diversity and a better understanding of the European Union and its values. In addition to achieving qualitative objectives, the University wants to achieve quantitative objectives by constantly increasing the number of mobility programmes completed. In accordance with financial agreement 2023-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000122943, the University was awarded funding for 83 mobility programmes, which translated into the following types of mobilities: 1. students mobility for studies (SMS) 40 2. students mobility for traineeship (SMT) 32 3. staff mobility for teaching (STA) 4 4. staff mobility for training (STT) 7 In implementing project 2023-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000122943, the university placed particular emphasis on promoting traineeships, especially short-term ones, hoping to increase interest in Erasmus+ Programme mobilities among students with fewer opportunities. Following an increase in staff mobilities, of which 29 (STA – 2, STT – 27) took place under project 2022-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000055349 compared to 18 under project 2021-1-PL01-KA131 -HED-000004312, the University continued to promote mobilities for academic teachers and administrative staff, with a particular emphasis on mobilities for staff who had not previously participated in any mobility programmes. The Erasmus+ office employees prepared information brochures on the above activities, organised meetings promoting mobility under the Erasmus+ Programme, and posted additional information on the website.
