The University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) in Rzeszów consistently strives to enhance its level of internationalisation, which is why participation in the Erasmus+ programme is a key element of the university’s development strategy. The project implemented under Action KA131 aimed to support academic mobility and - foster international cooperation, contributing to the achievement of the following objectives: - increasing the level of internationalisation at UITM, - improving the university’s recognition in the international arena, - enhancing the professional and teaching competences of academic and administrative staff, - improving students’ language skills and intercultural competences, - establishing international partnerships that support institutional development, - implementing joint strategic projects with foreign partners, - strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions, educational organisations, and businesses, - exchanging knowledge, experience, and good practices, - organising international internships to improve the employability of students and graduates. Particular emphasis was placed on the participation of students in academic mobility, both in the form of study exchanges and professional internships. This participation was a crucial element of students' personal and professional development, enabling them to gain experience in an international academic environment, enhance their language proficiency, and develop soft skills. Academic exchange also facilitated the building of professional networks, increased students’ employability after graduation, and prepared them for careers in a multicultural, global labour market. In line with UITM’s dynamic development in the area of education for sustainable development, the project also aimed to expand knowledge of solutions implemented at partner universities in the following areas: I – Education, II – Research and Development, III – Infrastructure and Organisation, IV – Partnerships for Sustainable Development. The implementation of Erasmus+ activities also had an important social dimension – it contributed to strengthening the sense of European community and promoting civic engagement. In modern democratic societies, where inclusion and active participation in public life are fundamental, such experiences are particularly valuable. An important aspect of the project was also the effort to increase the accessibility of the Erasmus+ programme for participants with fewer opportunities. Actions were taken to eliminate participation barriers through information campaigns, organisational support, and the creation of appropriate learning and development conditions for all participants.
