Between 1 June 2023 and 31 July 2025, the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ implemented the KA131-HED project as part of the Erasmus+ programme. The project was intended to intensify the internationalisation of the university. This was understood as developing the mobility of students and staff and strengthening the quality of cooperation between the university and partner institutions in line with the university's development strategy. The project improved the quality of education and prepared students to function in the information society and the knowledge-based economy. The project objectives were implemented in accordance with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. The project aimed to prepare students to participate in social and cultural life at the local, national and international levels. The achievement of this objective was important because the university wanted its graduates to have solid professional qualifications. At the same time, students were expected to develop civic attitudes and their own cultural sensitivity. Participation in Erasmus+ mobility programmes enabled students to gain experience in an international and multicultural environment. The experience gained during mobility developed students' openness to diversity and their ability to work in international teams. As an institution of higher education, we aspire to provide the socio-economic environment with highly qualified specialists in selected disciplines in the fields of humanities, social sciences, engineering and technology, medicine and health sciences, as well as exact and natural sciences. Therefore, the university set a goal of increasing student participation in foreign mobility programmes, and this goal has been achieved. Foreign mobilities enabled students to develop their academic, language and intercultural competences and allowed them to gain experience related to studying in an international and digital environment. Mobility strengthened students' sense of belonging to the European community. The university provided participants with full informational, organisational, linguistic and cultural support. The recruitment process was transparent and based on equal opportunities. All learning outcomes were recognised in accordance with ECTS principles and the university's internal regulations. In the case of academic and administrative staff trips, the university aimed to increase their participation in teaching and training mobility programmes. Our institution's participation in the project contributed to improving the professional qualifications of our staff, refining the teaching methods they use and organising the teaching process. The participation of staff in mobility programmes improved the quality of teaching. It also contributed to the improvement of administrative support for students. Staff mobility programmes contributed to the development of the university's international network of contacts. The funds from the programme were used by the university in a transparent, rational and effective manner, enabling it to achieve its objectives. The project significantly strengthened the cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences and partner universities with a similar profile and enabled it to undertake joint initiatives. This is reflected in the scientific research currently being carried out in cooperation with partner institutions. The university implemented activities for inclusion and diversity in order to increase the accessibility of mobility and achieved the intended results in this area. At the same time, by supporting the ecological transition, the university promoted sustainable travel. The university also implemented plans related to the digitisation of mobility management processes and the development of digital competences of mobility participants. The international dimension of education was also expanded through mobility to non-European countries.
