Objectives

The main objective of implementing the Erasmus KA131 project at the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża was to increase the level of internationalisation of the university and to provide students and staff with opportunities for comprehensive development in an international educational and professional environment. We wanted the project to contribute to raising the quality of education, enhancing the attractiveness of our university on the educational market, and building a positive image of MANS in Europe. Our aim was to enable students to gain practical experience in foreign institutions, to improve their language, intercultural and organisational skills, and to develop attitudes of openness and mobility in the labour market. In this way, we sought to strengthen their employability and prepare them for functioning in a dynamically changing world, in which flexibility, adaptability and readiness to work in international teams are of key importance. Another equally important objective was to create opportunities for staff to improve their teaching and organisational competences. Teaching mobilities enabled them to conduct classes at partner universities, which encouraged the exchange of experience and the introduction of new teaching methods into practice. Training mobilities supported the development of skills in university management, international student services and competences needed for running international projects. From an institutional perspective, we wanted the project to foster the development of a sustainable network of international contacts, to strengthen cooperation with existing partners and to create opportunities for new partnerships. Our intention was also that the experiences of mobility participants would be transferred to the entire academic community of MANS – enriching the teaching process, strengthening a culture of openness and cooperation, and inspiring future generations of students and staff to become engaged in international activities. In summary, by implementing the project we wanted not only to enable participation in international mobilities, but above all to use them as a tool for competence development, improvement of educational quality and building the position of MANS within the European academic space.
