Objectives

The project brought two main results: it supported the personal and social development of the project group, especially those at risk of marginalization, and encouraged them to become socially and civically active. The main goals of the project can be summed up as follows: The project aimed to promote equal opportunities and social integration of young people by organizing activities combating social exclusion, related to strengthening active social participation and combating discrimination. Our goal was to build tolerant and inclusive attitudes in such a different cultural environment in order to make positive changes in the perception of the world by young people. Acquisition of modern competences - thanks to modern forms of teaching (workshops or project work), participants acquired new competences, especially in the field of teamwork, organization and self-presentation. The project also promoted social involvement and the ability to resolve conflicts and intercultural communication. Language competences: one of the priorities was the development of multilingualism, which translated into the improvement of the participants' language competences (especially in the field of practical communication in English). Daily interactions with peers from different countries built the youth’s confidence in using foreign languages, which opened up more opportunities for development in the international arena. Development of new educational work patterns — the implementation of the project allowed the staff to master educational practices that were new to them and implement them in their daily practice. OHP employees acted as mentors, facilitating the participants’ independence and social integration, making them more susceptible to educational innovations.
