Thanks to the project “ Kształtując jutro – Shaping Tomorrow" The Voluntary Labour Corps in Podlasie region has achieved 3 main goals planned in the Accreditation, which are also the goals of the project, i.e .: - international cooperation was developed by establishing contacts with foreign partners and building a network of international cooperation (Goal No. 1); - the competences of the staff were raised in a foreign environment , and the work skills in the field of intercultural education of the participants were enriched and improved (Goal No. 2); - OHP participants were integrated and activated interculturally by implementing mobility and providing them with various forms of non-formal education (Goal No. 3). The above-mentioned objectives were achieved by implementing the following activities: a contact seminar in Białystok and an international youth exchange in Wasilków. The organization of the contact seminar allowed us to renew old partnerships and establish new ones, as a result of which our network of partners was created and a four-party agreement was signed for the implementation of international exchange . Partner organizations participating in the seminar also declared their participation in youth exchanges planned in following years of accreditation, presented their next projects and invited the seminar participants to participate in them. The seminar program was a direct response to the diagnosis of the needs of the PWK OHP staff regarding: lack of trusted partner organizations , lack of experience among new rotating employees, lack of knowledge of the latest trends, technologies and good practices in the field of organizing non-formal education (mobility), or lack of experience and opportunities to improve competences in using a foreign language . Therefore, when recruiting partners, we invited on organizations with Accreditation and working with youth in difficulties which resulted in creating an effective cooperation . OHP and the partners themselves will benefit from network of partners, which will be developed in the following years of Accreditation. The seminar program included a number of activities ( including discussion panels, exercises, observations, presentations and shows, visits to local institutions working with youth, meetings with the staff of PWK OHP). They allowed an effective and efficient exchange of good practices, ideas for the successful implementation of mobility projects and other forms of non-formal education, taking into account the demanding receivers - i.e. young people with fewer opportunities, who need to use particularly well-thought-out and selected forms and methods of work. An important part of the summary of the cooperation of the participants at the seminar was the joint preparation of ideas for future mobility projects, including this year's youth exchange in Wasilków. Efficient organization and high -quality seminar program, the involvement of local institutions working with young people and the dissemination of the seminar results among the OHP staff and on the Internet, allowed to refresh the image of OHP in Podlasie, as European institution interested in new educational trends and actually contributed to enriching the OHP staff with theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of intercultural and international education at a level that meets Erasmus+ quality standards. The inclusion of project participants/participants of OHP in the organization and participation in an international exchange with as many as 3 different foreign partners naturally integrated the youth in a sense of responsibility for the implementation of activities performed together during the exchange. It also contributed to their social activation and openness to intercultural dialogue. By enabling OHP participants to participate in such a form of non-formal education, including supporting them in learning through experience, cooperation with foreign peers, their intercultural competences were improved, it allowed them to get rid of xenophobic behaviors and face stereotypes about the world /foreign nationalities, appreciate the values brought by other cultures and understand the need for lifelong learning, including foreign languages, which are a gateway to being citizens of Europe. The success of achieving the assumed goals is evidenced by the high satisfaction of young people with participating in the project and the desire/need to participate in further non-formal education projects /especially international ones. The above-mentioned goals in the project are identical to the Internationalization Strategy of PWK OHP for 2023-2027 and are based on the EU Youth Strategy, i.e. engaging young people by giving them the opportunity to jointly create and implement a project that has an impact on them and their local and international community and strengthening their position, sense of responsibility and their motivation for actions as citizens of Europe.
