Objectives

The Youth Educational Center in Trzebież is an institution dedicated to continuous development, improving the quality of work, and adapting it to the evolving needs of our participants. For many years, we have involved them in non-formal and international education projects. Through our Erasmus+ accreditation in the Youth sector, we aimed to create genuine conditions that would enable our residents to achieve the three key objectives of the EU Youth Strategy. Our residents, young people with limited educational opportunities, often come from families facing various challenges. Frequently, the goals defined in strategies feel distant from their everyday reality. We planned for the activities within the accreditation to help us fulfill the goals described in the Commission's Communication "Engaging, Connecting, and Empowering Young People: A New EU Youth Strategy" in a practical, understandable, and tailored way for the unique needs of our residents. All three goals encompass both activities with the youth and the training of our Center’s staff in this area: 1. ENGAGEMENT – we focused on activities that develop the individual talents of our residents, providing them with skills useful in their professional lives and connecting with their passions. We achieved this through educational work in the Center and through international mobility, as mutually complementary actions. 2. CONNECTION – our residents, through international mobility, had the chance to build relationships with peers from other countries and directly participate in the exchange of experiences. 3. EMPOWERMENT – we utilized technological advancements to support the development of our residents and staff, including implementing activities using various audio and video creation tools. With the grant we received, we focused primarily on: - expanding the educational opportunities for our residents, increasing their personal development potential – for instance, through participation in youth exchanges, - broadening training opportunities for the staff, enhancing their personal development – staff had the chance to co-organize youth exchanges and participate in training to enhance their skills, - deepening existing experience by linking formal education with non-formal, intercultural, and international activities, improving the quality of work with the youth in the Center, - disseminating the effects of innovative actions for socially maladjusted youth in other rehabilitation and sociotherapeutic centers, incorporating them into non-formal education projects and promoting tested solutions in institutions like Youth Educational Centers and Youth Sociotherapy Centers.
