The "Breaking Bread" project was a common initiative of young people from Poland, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Currently, we are observing a loss of respect for bread (and therefore for tradition and our culture) and human work. This is largely because we do not have adequate knowledge on this subject. Therefore, together with our peers, we decided to create and implement a project that not only responded to our interests and needs but also allowed us to deepen our knowledge of our and foreign cultures, and our cultural identity and appreciate our cultural heritage through the prism of bread, its symbolism, baking process. The main goal of our project was to deepen cultural identity and strengthen intercultural dialogue. We achieved it through specific goals: - expanding knowledge about our cultures through the prism of respect for bread, which is part of our cultural heritage, based on symbolism, customs, and rituals; - increased awareness of cultural heritage related to the symbolism of bread; - expanding knowledge about the impact of multiculturalism on the shape of our current cultures, traditions, and customs related to the symbolism of bread; - development of attitudes such as tolerance, openness, respect.
