Objectives

The project was the idea of the youth themselves who came up with the initiative. The project was carried out in Romania (Galati town) and in Poland (Kraśnik). Project activities were aimed at 23 participants (two groups of 10 people each, to which one chaperone and a project coordinator were assigned). To meet the interests and initiative of young people, the project “Appetite for Health!” was based largely on practical activities and non-formal methods of learning, which open, according to young people, unusual opportunities to combine knowledge of healthy eating, healthy lifestyles, the variety of paths leading to this, overcoming the dangers facing those trying to achieve this, tolerance, openness to otherness (religious or worldview) in a word the acquisition of European values, and at the same time improving individual skills through practical activities in line with the direction of education. The idea is authored by participants of the OHP who undergo daily apprenticeships in the professions of confectioner, baker, cook. The joint implementation of the project by Polish and Romanian young people carried out symmetrically first in Poland and then in Romania was to acquire knowledge on the above-mentioned topics, first theoretical, and then translate it into concrete practical activities. The cultural event that took place at the end of the mobility in Romania for the local community combined elements of sports competition and healthy eating. It was a tool to build the volume of the project, its carrying capacity, and at the same time showed and promoted the values we cared about in the project. The methodology of the project was the key that made participants with economic, social, adaptation problems realize that other people from another country, community, different from them are in fact the same, that together you can create a team, solve problems, and that stereotypes are usually just platitudes. The project contributed to the construction of the European education area, supported cooperation in the field of training and education and also strengthened cooperation in the field of youth policy. These activities contributed to strengthening European identity. The main effect of the project was an increase in knowledge of sports, activity and healthy living, and increased awareness of the impact of these aspects on young Poles and Romanians and their surroundings - near and far. Stereotypes and prejudices about healthy food, cultural differences were overcome etc. During the project, the theme of sports/activity issues was highlighted
