The school we attend, the Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego in Sosnowiec, is a modern institution whose mission is to provide pupils and students with a sound vocational education and marketable qualifications. The school relies on innovative teaching methods and places great emphasis on the development of the personal and social competences of its students. The main objective of providing us with knowledge in the form of informal education was more than achieved. It turned out that this form of learning was a hit and, as project participants, we were more willing to engage in activities and were able to achieve better results. The project was intended to be a valuable experience for all participants. Through the project we wanted to prove that innovative teaching methods and non-formal education can be very effective in developing professional and personal competences. The specific objectives were: to develop the professional and linguistic skills of the participants, to get to know a new culture and people, to improve group work skills, to increase educational outcomes, to prepare the students to enter the local and European labour market, to increase their knowledge of ecology, to broaden their professional knowledge in a given sector, to inspire and show the possibilities of reusing unused clothes, to increase expertise in sustainable fashion and slow fashion, to develop the skills necessary to introduce ecological behaviour in the context of fashion and clothing, to strengthen personal and social competences such as: working in a group, setting strategies for action, making compromises, increasing self-esteem through the creation of an original e-book, improving IT skills such as communicating with partners via the Internet, instant messaging and webinars.
