Objectives

The concept of the "FIELD - Film Industry European Leaders' Days" project was created as a result of meetings and discussions of young people who connect their future with the film industry. The initiative group consists of young filmmakers - mainly aspiring directors and creative producers - who met in November 2021 during the 20th edition of the CINEMAFORUM international film festival in Warsaw. During meetings and joint discussions, young artists defined two main problems related to their own creative development, which limits their ability to carry out artistic activities internationally: - the European film market is dominated by large Hollywood studios, and creative exchange between individual European countries is too small, - young filmmakers' knowledge of the possibilities of international cooperation and European mechanisms supporting their artistic development is negligible, and there are no educational centers that can offer this type of educational offer. The youth clearly stated that the educational task related to the development of international cooperation between aspiring European filmmakers must be fulfilled by another structure, e.g. a non-formal education program, the aim of which will be to exchange experiences allowing them to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of their future development. creative on the European film market. The next meeting of young filmmakers and film producers from the group initiating the project took place in October 2022 in Olsztyn. Taking advantage of the fact that meetings of young filmmakers from all over the world take place in Olsztyn every year, the youth wanted to organize a project in 2023 called "FIELD - Film Industry European Leaders' Days" - a unique international youth exchange addressed to young, European film directors and creative producers, dedicated to modern methods of working on film projects and implementing new standards of ecological audiovisual production in Europe. The project will be based on peer education of young, beginner filmmakers, animating the exchange of experiences and developing cooperation between debutants from individual European countries. When planning their project, young people decided to focus on the search, exchange and presentation at one time and place of knowledge and methodology regarding modern and pioneering creative film production processes that operate in individual European cinematography - in particular in the context of supporting and developing young film talents. . The project initiators stated that only the creation of an initiative constituting a European platform for cooperation between young creators can become a real development space, giving them driving force and allowing them to go beyond the limitations related to the functioning of individual national cinematography. It is in transnational activities carried out within the framework of European cooperation that young people interested in future development in the audiovisual industry see not only their individual future, but also the future of European cinema. Each participant of "FIELD - Film Industry European Leaders' Days" contributed to enriching the multicultural nature of the project by sharing their experience and knowledge. The grassroots initiative of young filmmakers enabled them to improve their future professional competences and become a real development impulse for young European cinema. The program planned as part of the project allowed young people not only to develop creative skills, but also to gain practical experience and information about the process of creative film production and the relationship between the creative producer and the director, which, unlike the traditional (superior-subordinate) "producer-director" relationship " is a partnership in which young filmmakers form director-producer creative duos and work together on the development of their own projects. The "FIELD - Film Industry European Leaders' Days" project contributed not only to the development of participants' knowledge and enrichment of their experiences regarding new models of film production and implementation, but also to the development of artistic passions and motivations, as well as increasing intercultural awareness and strengthening the European dialogue of young filmmakers. The project enabled filmmakers to move efficiently around the European market and allow for thoughtful artistic cooperation - thus meeting the goals of educational mobility of the ERASMUS+ program. An extremely important aspect of the project was also the exploration, analysis and popularization of green film production standards, consistent with the sustainable development policy and constituting a necessary condition in the face of climate threats, but also a practical condition in the context of budget constraints faced by young creators and producers.
