The problems of ecology, of climate change, are and will increasingly be felt even in everyday life. This crisis affected us and our families directly when it suddenly became apparent that heating and electricity bills had risen terribly. On the one hand, this caused us to start saving heavily on everything in our homes, but on the other hand, in conversations among ourselves, we started to think about why this was so and whether it was possible to replace coal or gas with another source. We had various ideas such as the antimatter ward drive, but as time went on we found that this topic was serious and very big and that we would like to explore it more, especially as the issue of nuclear energy would also soon become somehow ours, in connection with the planned construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland. And so the idea for a project on energy sources that we as people could use was born. We talked about it with our mentors from the Association and they helped us to dress the idea into the shape of a youth exchange. We talked about: - energy, a topic we are very interested in - alternatives to the current sources which, apart from being expensive, are a heavy burden on the the environment, - the issue of plastic in the environment - where it comes from, why there is so much of it and what can be done about it, - how to implement ecological solutions into our lives in order to maximise resource conservation such as energy, water and reduce the production of rubbish such as plastic. Therefore, we have found a solution to the problem with ubiquitous plastic. In addition, we have come up with a cheaper and environmentally friendly alternative to produce cheap and accessible energy without any problems. Because we can't imagine a world where electricity is so expensive that you can't use mobile phones or the internet freely, because the price of powering these devices will be huge. The objectives of our project were: - to learn about current forms of electricity generation - to find out about potential forms of energy generation in the future, based on the latest research by scientists - to learn about waste reduction methods such as the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Zero Waste - find solutions to the problem of excessive generation and use of plastics - to learn about good practices in saving energy and reducing plastic waste by developing a booklet with solutions that can be implemented in everyday life - learning about Polish and Slovakian culture by spending 8 exchange days together and organising 2 cultural evenings - developing language skills (English), through daily conversations in English, throughout the exchange.
