Objectives

The project aimed to promote tolerance and engage young people in civic life through innovative, practical activities. The organizers noticed that young people in local communities often do not actively participate in pro-social initiatives or in activities for tolerance. In response to these needs, the project aimed to awaken awareness and engagement of young people in social issues, democracy and solidarity. The aim of the project was to spread tolerance, especially by combining sports (e.g. tolerance runs) with civic education. Sport was chosen as a tool to show that ethnic and cultural diversity can be a value and a basis for positive social relations. Peer education was also an important aspect of the project - participants had the opportunity to learn from each other, break stereotypes and integrate across cultural divides. During the exchange, participants learned about international cooperation and counteracting conflicts, and aimed to build relationships without barriers and prejudices. The project aimed to motivate young people to actively participate in local life, by participating in initiatives for tolerance and building solidarity. Direct meetings and cooperation with young people from other countries allowed participants to break stereotypes and better understand the cultural diversity of Europe. By organizing joint events, participants learned an attitude of acceptance towards other cultures. The exchange was conducted in English, which helped develop language skills and allowed young people to freely express their opinions and conduct dialogue with peers from other countries. Working in international groups also allowed them to learn effective cooperation without barriers and conflicts. During the preparatory period, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with documents such as the Declaration of Human Rights and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which allowed them to understand the importance of protecting human rights and civil liberties. The project's objectives are in line with the values of the Erasmus+ program, which promotes tolerance, understanding and positive relations between countries. By implementing practical activities, the project was to directly support the building of a society based on dialogue, which is a response to contemporary challenges such as intolerance, racism and xenophobia in Europe.
