The Erasmus youth exchange project, conducted in Poland aimed to tackle the significant issue of youth unemployment through a multifaceted approach. Our primary objective was to enhance job search skills among young people. We provided participants with comprehensive training to navigate the job market more effectively. This included workshops on creating compelling resumes, understanding job requirements, and mastering the interview process. By equipping young people with these essential skills, we aimed to boost their confidence and competence in securing employment. The project recognized that many young individuals lacked the practical knowledge to present themselves effectively to potential employers. Therefore, our activities were designed to fill this gap and provide them with the tools they needed to succeed. Another key objective was to develop employability skills to prepare young people for a rapidly evolving job market. The educational system often fails to keep pace with the dynamic changes in employment requirements, leaving many young individuals underprepared and at risk of marginalization. We addressed this gap by offering targeted training that included communication, leadership, teamwork, motivation, and responsibility skills—attributes highly sought after by employers. Through a series of engaging and interactive sessions, participants learned how to analyze employer needs and expectations, refine their application processes, and tailor their CVs to specific job roles. Additionally, we focused on improving their presentation and interview skills through practical exercises. The goal was to ensure that participants left the program with a clear understanding of what employers look for and how to position themselves as strong candidates in a competitive job market. Promoting volunteering was another essential component of our project. We recognized that one of the significant barriers to employment for young people is the lack of practical experience. Volunteering provides an effective solution to this problem by offering real-world experience, skill development, and valuable networking opportunities. Our project aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of volunteering and inform participants about various opportunities available to them. We organized sessions where experienced volunteers shared their journeys and the positive impact volunteering had on their careers. By highlighting these success stories, we encouraged participants to view volunteering as a viable and valuable step toward their career goals. Furthermore, we provided guidance on how to find and apply for volunteer positions, emphasizing how these experiences could enhance their resumes and make them more attractive to potential employers. Lastly, we sought to empower youth, particularly those facing challenges in entering the job market, by emphasizing the importance of non-formal education and practice. We recognized that traditional education alone is not always sufficient to meet the needs of today's job market. Our program integrated non-formal educational methods, including interactive workshops, peer learning, and real-world practice, to provide a holistic learning experience. Participants were encouraged to define their career aspirations and educational paths while developing critical skills through hands-on activities. One of the unique aspects of our program was its international context, which allowed participants to develop intercultural skills and improve their English proficiency. This exposure to a multicultural environment enabled them to adapt to diverse workplaces and increased their cultural awareness and tolerance. By fostering these skills, we aimed to enhance their employability and prepare them for success in a globalized job market.
