Objectives

The "Keep Your MIND Young and Sharp" is an international youth exchange project involving young people from Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Italy and Romania. A total of 37 people were involved in the project, i.e. 28 young people, 7 leaders and 2 facilitators supporting the entire cooperation and learning process. Our project consisted of two mobilities, i.e. a preparatory visit implemented on February 24-25, 2024 and a youth exchange implemented on April 5-14, 2024. We declared the main goal of our project as counteracting the negative phenomenon of deterioration of broadly understood mental health and well-being among young people and the consequences of this deterioration, as well as strengthening the skills and attitudes that support emotional stability. Our aims leading us to fullfilling the main goal were as follows: - better understanding of the phenomenon of detoriation of mental health and well-being among young people, - counteracting the stigmatization of young people affected by the negative consequences of deteriorating mental health by better understanding the problem and supporting social awareness of its causes, consequences and effects, - strengthening participants' attitudes and competences in dealing with periods of severe stress or anxiety, uncertainty, coping with failures, new challenges and adaptation to the changing reality, feeling of lack of motivation and other factors that may permanently worsen the participants' well-being and mental health, - promotion of methods that support us in taking care of our mental health and well-being, such as self-care, building self-esteem, developing social and interpersonal competences and a sense of belonging to the local community and acceptance, understanding our own needs and emotions and the ability to express and name them , greater activity in activities based on outdoor activities, nature-based learning and mindfulness. - development of experiences, competences and skills related to the preparation and implementation of the project and conducting international cooperation. The partners in our project were 6 youth organizations from Romania, Slovakia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Spain and Italy: - "BeeHive" from Romania, - STEP from Slovakia, - "Apglebk Pasauli" from Lithuania, - "VulcanicaMente" from Italy, - United Avangard Artists from Bulgaria, - El Eco del Arte from Spain. The project coordinator was a Polish team, composed of 4 young people (participants), 1 leader and 1 facilitator. We all represented the Stowarzyszenie Wspierania Inicjatyw Młodzieżowych "FENIKS" from Pleszew, Poland.
