Objectives

MYTH aimed to address several pressing issues that we believe are common among young people today, such as limited knowledge of different cultures, the persistence of stereotypes, and a need for greater inclusion and intercultural exchange. In response to these needs, we designed the project to achieve the following objectives: Promote Communication and Intercultural Dialogue: We wanted to create opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful conversations about their cultural backgrounds and traditions. By sharing mythologies from Poland, Greece, Italy, Turkey, and Armenia, participants learned to appreciate differences and discover commonalities. Develop Tolerance, Inclusion, and Freedom: The project aimed to break down stereotypes and promote values of inclusion and mutual respect. Through collaborative activities and cultural exchange, participants learned to see diversity as a fundamental part of humanity. Raise Awareness on Social and Cultural Matters: We sought to increase participants’ consciousness of how mythologies influence societies and shape identities. Activities like school presentations and the theatre performance encouraged critical reflection on cultural heritage and its relevance today. Foster Diversity and Inclusion in Daily Life: By experiencing different cultures first-hand, participants gained an understanding of the importance of inclusion and the richness that diversity brings to society. Develop Soft Skills: The project provided an environment to build critical thinking, teamwork, public speaking, and self-confidence. Preparing and performing “The Gods of Today” challenged participants to collaborate creatively and communicate effectively. Increase Motivation for Future Projects: We aimed to inspire participants to engage in future formal and non-formal education opportunities by showing the benefits of cultural exchange and collaborative learning. In summary, MYTH sought to cultivate a generation of young people who are more culturally aware, tolerant, and motivated to build a more inclusive and equal society. By exploring the myths that shape our collective heritage, participants were encouraged to embrace diversity, overcome stereotypes, and connect with each other through shared stories and experiences.
