The main objective of the "European Patch" project was to foster intercultural dialogue, promote European values of tolerance, respect, and inclusivity, and raise awareness of socially relevant issues, such as nationalism, xenophobia, and exclusion. By bringing together young people from six European countries, the project aimed to create a shared experience that highlighted cultural diversity and common heritage while combating prejudices and stereotypes. The project's specific objectives included: #Fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding – Encouraging participants to learn about each other’s cultures, traditions, and histories in order to promote mutual respect and appreciation for Europe’s diverse cultural heritage. #Promoting European values – Reinforcing values such as tolerance, inclusion, respect, and anti-radicalization through peer learning, storytelling, and artistic expression, contributing to a more open and cohesive European society. #Combating prejudices and stereotypes – By encouraging participants to share their personal stories and experiences, the project sought to break down misconceptions about other cultures and communities, especially those related to religion, ethnicity, and nationality. #Developing skills and attitudes – Providing opportunities for young people to develop new skills, such as artistic expression through patchwork and theatrical performances, as well as leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. #Raising awareness about social and environmental issues – Through workshops focused on recycling and using old materials creatively, the project aimed to increase participants' awareness of environmental sustainability and encourage them to adopt environmentally conscious attitudes. #Encouraging active citizenship – By learning about Europe’s shared cultural heritage and its contemporary relevance, the project hoped to inspire participants to engage actively in their own communities and contribute to promoting cultural understanding and inclusivity. #Providing opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities – Offering a platform for young people facing social, economic, or geographical challenges to participate fully in the exchange, enabling them to feel included and valued in the European space.
