Objectives

The Story of Humanity project was created to draw attention to key issues in contemporary Europe, such as human rights, tolerance, interpersonal relations and conflicts. Its implementation was a response to the difficult events related to the war in Ukraine, which showed us how fragile a world based on mutual respect and dialogue can be. The project aimed to promote values such as tolerance, understanding and acceptance of diversity, as well as to build awareness of how important it is to cultivate them. The inspiration for action was the experience of the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Reports of war, waves of refugees and human tragedies were a shocking experience for our community, which mobilized us to act. In Lipnica Murowana, where the Polish group comes from, help was immediately organized, and local youth, residents and authorities joined various initiatives supporting Ukrainians. The event "Solidarity with Ukraine" at the Municipal Cultural Center became a symbolic expression of this solidarity. During the event, which had an artistic character, a collection of gifts was held, which showed the strength of unity of our community. Many refugees of different ages came to Lipnica, who found shelter and support here. Our organization was involved in activities for the integration of newcomers, including the inclusion of Ukrainian children and youth in local events and initiatives. Schools accepted new students with openness, and their acceptance by their peers was proof of the importance of cooperation and mutual understanding. The idea of creating the project "The Story of Humanity" was born under the influence of these experiences. The youth associated with the brass band in our commune decided that they wanted to work to promote values such as human rights, tolerance and dialogue. With the support of the association, it was possible to establish cooperation with partners from Ukraine, Hungary and Romania. The project had not only an educational dimension, but also an artistic one, which additionally emphasized its universal character. The implementation of this undertaking was a conscious response to the need to promote the idea of mutual respect and understanding. The project participants wanted to show that every effort, even a small one, contributes to building a more tolerant future. We have worked together to promote these fundamental values, believing that they are the key to peace and stability in Europe and the world.
