As organisations that work with young people on a daily basis, we have created new opportunities for them to develop their competence skills, which they can use in their personal and professional lives in the future. Due to their geographical location, Poland and Lithuania have a lot in common: history, tradition and, last but not least, common goals. What is important is that we often live only in history, forgetting about what is really most important, namely common relations and a common future. Therefore, even before the project, we knew that it was necessary to take action, even at school level, to improve relations between our countries and, above all, between people who, like us, live close to each other. We decided that the best way to bring us together was through a joint project, with common goals and a common theme. We believe that cultural differences have different roots: the experiences of social groups, beliefs or history are some of the elements that have influenced the creation of distinctiveness. Hence the idea to try to exchange knowledge and experience in this matter. Given the history of our countries, distinctiveness takes on yet another meaning. An important aspect for which we have organised and implemented the project is the chance to develop, acquire competencies and skills. In the villages, there is a persistent opinion that the inhabitants are only suitable for agricultural or domestic work. Our organisation and ourselves have shown the public that we can go beyond this and develop in any area we want.
