According to reports and data from Eurostat, youth unemployment in Europe (younger than 25 y.o.), although it has decreased, is still a major problem. Since LEVEL UP's mission is to "improve the quality of life of the local community", in our work we often encounter various problems of young people, often being the first, professional experience for students and people entering the job market. During its existence, over 200 people have completed internships and volunteering with us, and this number is growing every year. From our experience and conversations, it also follows that the most difficult thing is to find the first job and gain experience that will later allow you to improve your situation on the job market. To do this, it is also necessary to constantly improve your professional skills. In a study conducted in our local community, we noticed stress related to the lack of appropriate experience, searching for job offers, complicated recruitment processes and creating an appropriate CV. We wanted to create a project that would help combat these problems, giving participants the opportunity to develop soft skills, prepare for job interviews and various career opportunities and where to look for them. Since we wanted the project participants to be able to exchange experiences, we selected partners from countries with high unemployment (Spain, Italy, Lithuania) and those with lower unemployment (Poland, Germany), which helped to look at the problem from a broader perspective and exchange their experiences. The aim was to improve the knowledge of youth workers about the professional activation of young people, so that they could implement activation activities and share knowledge acquired during the project. During the selection of participants, we also paid attention to the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities, of whom there were 18, or 36% of all participants. They were mainly people with migrant experience, but also those struggling with economic, social or geographical problems. The project also aimed to increase awareness of EU values and programs, especially since the project involved one country that was not part of the EU (Georgia). Throughout the project, we used an approach that took into account the different perspectives of the participants - we paid a lot of attention to comparing the situations between countries. We used a variety of methods in the project, including discussions, teamwork, presentations and reflections.
