Objectives

The “It doesn't matter where you're from - it matters that you act!” project aimed to activate young people from smaller cities, towns and villages in Poland, encouraging them to get involved in civic activities, take social initiatives and develop their leadership skills and soft skills. The project aimed to create a space where young people from smaller towns could gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical experience in organizing events, managing projects and working together in teams. We wanted to show young people that they can actively participate in social and civic life, even if they come from small towns. It was particularly important for us to achieve this goal, given that most civic and social activities in Poland are concentrated in larger cities, and there is a significant deficit of involvement and development opportunities in smaller towns. The project aimed to support young people in developing leadership competencies, which are essential for active participation in civil society. Participants had the opportunity to acquire skills related to team management, problem solving, interpersonal communication, as well as the development of negotiation and public speaking skills. These skills were intended not only to enable them to operate effectively within the project, but also to prepare them for the challenges of professional and social life. The project also aimed to develop organizational and motivational skills among the participants, so that they would be able not only to engage in social initiatives within the project, but also to undertake initiatives themselves in their local communities after the project ended.
