Objectives

The project “Stop Marginalization” was created for young people aged 13-30 from the Łódź region in Poland. Its main goal was to strengthen their voice in society, counteract exclusion and marginalisation, and help them develop social, communication and civic competences. Many young people – both students and those starting their professional careers – experience a sense of isolation and lack of influence on their environment. Our project aimed to change this by showing them that their opinions matter and that they can actively participate in decision-making processes. The objectives of the project were to raise awareness of the mechanisms of marginalisation and its consequences and to provide young people with concrete tools for action. Through workshops, participants learned to recognise techniques of social influence and manipulation, understood the dangers of the culture of exclusion, and developed practical communication skills based on dialogue, trust and respect. A key element was also to strengthen critical thinking so that young people could make informed decisions, resist peer or social media pressure, and confidently express their own needs and opinions. The culmination of the project was a youth debate with decision-makers and experts, during which young people presented their proposals and recommendations on education, mental health, preventing exclusion, and creating more space for civic engagement. This event showed that young people not only have knowledge and reflection but also are able to formulate real demands that can be used in public policies and institutional work. One of the outcomes was the publication “Youth Recommendations – Is it Possible to Rebuild Broken Ties between Society and the Individual?”, which collected the conclusions and demands from the debate. All project outcomes were disseminated in the form of free publications, including: - “The Power of Persuasion – Analysis of Cialdini’s Six Principles”, - “Drawers of Marginalisation – Destructive Consequences of Exclusion”, - “Listen and Understand – Principles of Effective Communication with Young People”, - “Youth Recommendations – Is it Possible to Rebuild Broken Ties between Society and the Individual?”. The publications were distributed to hundreds of schools, organisations and institutions across Poland, shared on the Association's website and social media and social media, and published on external platforms, such as Młody Kraków and Łódź Pozarządowa. The project directly addressed the Erasmus+ priorities. In terms of inclusion and diversity, it provided opportunities for young people from different backgrounds, including those from smaller towns, who often have limited access to such initiatives. In the area of youth participation in democratic life, it enabled dialogue with decision-makers and the development of recommendations that became part of public debate. Through online promotion and the use of digital tools, the project contributed to digital transformation, while its educational elements also encouraged responsibility in the context of sustainable development – both socially and environmentally. The results of the project were visible on many levels: - For participants – an increase in knowledge (confirmed by tests), the development of communication and critical thinking skills, and the feeling that their voice truly matters. - For the organisation – strengthening our role as an institution actively supporting young people and working in line with European quality standards. - For local communities – creating opportunities for dialogue and cooperation between young people, schools, experts and local authorities. The project “Stop Marginalization” proved that when young people are given space and tools, they are able to articulate their problems and propose meaningful solutions. It was a project about the power of the young voice – and a starting point for further educational, social and systemic actions.
