Objectives

The aim of the project was to create a comprehensive educational and preventive program designed to counteract violence, particularly cyberbullying, which has become one of the most serious social problems among young people. The project aimed to both raise awareness among young people about various forms of violence and equip them with the tools and skills to effectively respond to threatening situations. One of the key objectives of the project was to show young people the importance of solidarity and support for victims of violence, as well as to promote attitudes that support gender equality. The youth participating in the project had the opportunity to understand that violence, both physical and psychological, is an issue that affects the entire society, not just individuals. Education on violence prevention aimed to strengthen the sense of security among young people and build social responsibility in them. Another important goal was to engage the youth in active efforts to combat violence. The project assumed that young people, through participation in workshops, conferences, and other events, would not only gain the necessary knowledge but also learn how to pass that knowledge on, becoming "leaders" of change in their communities. The youth had the opportunity to participate in creating a mural and organizing social debates, which not only allowed them to express their stance on violence but also gave them a real sense of influence on their surroundings. The project also aimed to develop social and organizational competencies among young people. Through active participation in the project, the youth improved their skills in communication, teamwork, and planning and implementing social initiatives. An important element was also acquiring self-defense skills, which aimed not only to increase the sense of security among workshop participants but also to strengthen their position in society. A crucial objective of the project was to promote gender equality and combat discrimination. As part of the project, young men, by organizing activities for their female peers, expressed opposition to all forms of violence against women. The project aimed to make young people aware of the importance of supporting gender equality and the significant role that men can play as allies in the fight against violence. The project activities contributed to deepening the reflection on the importance of supporting victims of violence, regardless of their gender. The project also had an integrative aspect, as it involved various groups of young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (students of Primary School No. 34 with Integration Units in Gdynia, named after Leonid Teliga). An important goal was to include these groups in activities aimed at preventing violence, which was intended to support both their social integration and the development of cooperation skills across divisions. The activities aimed to demonstrate that every person, regardless of their "limitations," can actively contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment. A key goal of the project was also to build lasting effects from its implementation that would positively impact the local community. Through the organization of conferences, debates, and workshops, the project aimed to create a space for dialogue on violence and initiate a local social movement against violence, including reaching out to local decision-makers. All the objectives of the project were achieved. The activities carried out succeeded in raising awareness among young people about the problem of violence and cyberbullying, as well as equipping the project participants with practical skills that will allow them to effectively respond to violence. The youth involved in the project gained valuable experience in organizing events and teamwork, which contributed to an increase in their self-confidence and sense of agency. The project also had a positive impact on social integration, engaging various groups of young people in activities for the common good. The implementation of the project also contributed to increasing interest in the issue of violence within the local community and initiated a dialogue on effective methods of preventing it. As a result, the project not only achieved its direct educational and preventive goals but also initiated long-term social changes among the youth.
