The main objective of the University of Lomza’s participation in the Erasmus+ KA171-HED Programme was to support the international exchange of students and academic staff with the following partner countries: Albania, Georgia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine, in order to foster the University’s internationalisation and to broaden academic and professional opportunities. The project was designed to enhance the quality of education, develop the skills of students and staff, and align study programmes with labour market needs. Beneficiaries had the opportunity to experience a completely different cultural and academic environment. The Programme enhanced tolerance towards diverse cultures, fostered long-lasting friendships, provided practical knowledge, and developed independence, responsibility, and self-confidence among students. Academic and administrative staff, through teaching and training mobilities, improved their competences, learnt new teaching methods, and built international relations serving as a basis for long-term cooperation. The long-term effect of the project was not only the internationalisation of the University, but also the enrichment of the local community through openness to diverse cultures.
