Our most important goal was to teach students what sustainable development is and how to live sustainably. We wanted to, and in our opinion, we succeeded in instilling in our students a lifelong love of nature, as well as a sense of responsibility for their land and community. Through the project we wanted to achieve the following goals: - reducing the purchase of things, - promoting environmentally friendly means of transport, - promoting ecological awareness, - reducing the waste of energy sources by saving energy, - reducing the use of rubbish/plastic, - reducing the carbon footprint, - promoting the love of nature (eco-tours), - establishing contacts with other people outside the school, - communicating in English, - learning about the culture of the partner countries. We managed to achieve these goals.
The project was a response to the emerging need to promote sustainable lifestyles by raising awareness of some of the major global environmental issues. Many students do not realize and did not realize that their habits were harmful to the environment; they thought that they were living a life that respected nature, but their consumption habits betrayed them. Our most important goal was to teach students what sustainability is and how to live sustainably. The project raised awareness of how to protect the environment. It encouraged action to respect and love nature. Education is the heart of society; the path to the goal of sustainable development begins with educating students. Therefore, schools encouraged students both educationally and socially to be part of sustainable development. What we wanted to achieve: to instill in our students a lifelong love for nature, as well as a sense of responsibility for their land and community. And this was our motivation for implementing the project. This project was planned to raise awareness of the topics listed above, which are key steps towards a more sustainable world.
