By implementing the project "To bee or not to bee" - development of ecological competences, we wanted to achieve the following goals: -increased ecological awareness among students and teachers - increase in ecological and natural knowledge among project participants - promoting pro-ecological attitudes - enriching the work of teachers from three partner institutions - involvement of teachers of various subjects in organizing and conducting classes on ecological topics -exchange of experiences and good practices between partner schools -integration of young people and establishing new friendships/friendships in an international environment - promotion of sustainable practices in tourism (travel by shared bus, use of filter bottles, etc.) and agriculture -reduction of negative human impact on the environment - creating educational materials and tools supporting ecological education - increase in linguistic competences in the use of English -increase in cultural competences -increase in social competences -increase in civic competences -increase in interpersonal competences
We applied for this project because we wanted to increase the level and scope of ecological activities in our facility and partner facilities. Our need was to raise ecological awareness among students and teachers and to increase the involvement of more teachers in undertaking and organizing ecology classes (so far it was mainly a nature/biology teacher and occasionally teachers of grades 1-3). We wanted to enrich the workshop with new ideas and work methods by taking advantage of the training in Valencia combined with an organizational meeting and by exchanging experiences in the field of ecological activities between partners. Each of the three partner institutions was already carrying out some ecological activities, so during the mobility we were able to learn about them, expand them, and then introduce them to our school and local environment. Apart from the ecological aspect, there was also a linguistic aspect - we wanted to deal with such issues in an international environment to enable our participants to develop linguistic competences in the use of English.
