Objectives

The project's implementation aimed to modernize and internationalize vocational education in the HORECA industry while enhancing the quality and efficiency of vocational teaching. The Union of Producers and Employers of the Meat Industry (UPEMI) and Olympus Education Services (OES) have long been cooperating in the development of modern educational programs, organizing vocational courses, and developing teaching materials for students and teachers of gastronomic and hospitality technical schools. A key goal for UPEMI and OES was also to introduce innovative teaching methods, including the development of an online platform that would be continuously supplemented with additional vocational courses. This innovative tool was intended to support the educational activities of schools and teachers, enabling them to use ready-made, high-quality teaching resources.

Background

The submission of this project application resulted from many years of experience in educational activities for the HORECA industry and the recognition of a significant need to support students and vocational teachers. The current level of education in Poland did not provide graduates of culinary technical schools with adequate competencies to enable them to function effectively in the international labor market. This limited their mobility and opportunities for professional development. The project aimed to create a modern educational tool in collaboration with an international community of specialists, which would not only deliver reliable theoretical knowledge but also develop key competencies expected by employers in the HORECA sector. Thanks to the interactive form and the availability of the theoretical component online, the course provided students with high-quality educational content and innovative learning methods. The project was a continuation of a successful collaboration between UPEMI and OES, which previously resulted in the joint development of two courses: "Savoir-Vivre" and "Greek Cuisine."
