The main objective of the project was to empower young people through artistic collaboration and practical education in the field of street art. We wanted to develop their key competences - creative, digital, social, and civic - while promoting the core European values like diversity, inclusion, and solidarity. The project aimed to encourage initiative, entrepreneurship, and cooperation among emerging artists from Poland and Romania by engaging them in every stage of the creative process - from concept and design to implementation and public presentation. By creating community murals in Kraków and Bucharest, we demonstrated how art can transform urban spaces and bring people together. Additional goals included building participants’ confidence as cultural leaders, strengthening their employability in the creative sector, and fostering lasting international networks between young creators, local authorities, and cultural institutions.
Our consortium applied for this project to respond to the real needs of young artists who often lack access to tools, guidance, and spaces to create and share their work. Both Mosaic and CreativePlus identified a strong demand for practical, experience-based artistic education that empowers youth to shape their surroundings and careers. Many young creators struggle to obtain permissions, funding, or professional support to work in public spaces, and street art is still often seen as problematic or illegal. When we were designing this project, we aimed to change that perception and to create opportunities for learning through practice - connecting artistic activities with civic engagement and European values. By organizing 2 international mobilities, 4 public murals and a series of workshops, we provided a platform for young people from Poland and Romania to cooperate, learn new creative and organizational skills, and use art as a means of inclusion, dialogue, and social participation.
