The main objectives of the "My name is YOUTH" project were: To mobilize young people towards active citizenship and support their independent organization of social animation and volunteer activities. To develop soft skills, with a focus on social competences, teamwork, and a sense of agency. To co-create community-based centers of non-formal education by involving volunteers in adapting the space to their needs and implementing artistic initiatives with the local community. To foster creativity among young people by enabling them to carry out their own artistic projects within the initiative called the "Creative Initiatives Generator." To expand activities in public spaces, including the preparation of an artistic presentation using AR technology, focusing on cultural artifacts in partner cities. To promote the use of digital technologies in line with the principles of sustainable development, by supporting youth-led ideas for new social initiatives using digital tools. To conduct cultural and social activities. To strengthen cooperation between partner organizations and expand their competencies through mutual inspiration and exchange.
The "My name is YOUTH" project was the first initiative aimed at bringing together the youth community around a newly established social club space in the center of Mikołów. Our goal was to launch a grassroots movement driven by young people who, through access to new digital technologies and the informal environment of the club, could freely develop their social skills and exchange experiences with peers from partner countries. The project responded to identified needs by focusing on enhancing social and digital competences. There was a recognized need to educate young people in areas related to civic engagement supported by new media, as although they are open to technological change, they often lack critical reflection on the opportunities and risks of technology. The project also aimed to address deepening crises caused by the pandemic and international conflicts by fostering new, safe social connections and media use. Another important objective was to build a sense of civic responsibility and to inspire young people to create positive social change based on empathy and respect for cultural diversity.
