We wished to focus on empowering youth to understand and participate in democratic processes, fostering collaboration between young people and stakeholders. By targeting disadvantaged groups and introducing engaging tools like the What IF! board game, the project simplified EU concepts, encouraged civic participation, and promoted a sense of European identity and shared values. Additionally we aimed at strengthening our expertise in democracy and youth engagement, enhancing its capacity to implement impactful initiatives, including projects linked to Poland’s EU presidency. It also enabled the formation of new local and international partnerships.
Greece: Dracon Rules Design Studio partnered in the iEUElect project to tackle Greek youth's low engagement in democracy. With high unemployment and limited civic education, the initiative focused on using the What IF! board game to educate young people on EU institutions and election processes. This interactive approach aimed to inspire marginalized groups to participate in the 2024 EU elections, promoting inclusivity and active citizenship. Poland: Senfineco Association prioritized fostering critical thinking and social dialogue among Polish youth. It emphasized inclusivity and democratic values, aiming for a ripple effect of engaged young leaders contributing to a more democratic society. Romania: The project consortium in Arad aimed to enhance youth democratic participation through non-formal and innovative methods. Addressing low civic involvement and limited access to quality activities in rural areas, it focused on building organizational capacity and fostering international cooperation. The initiative targeted empowering young people to become active citizens, addressing under-exploited opportunities in democratic engagement.
