The project aimed to increase young people's and youth workers' competences in first aid and modern educational methods. We wanted to create an interactive and engaging Gamified First Aid e-learning course (https://howtosavelives.eu/course/) that could be used in schools, youth organizations, and Volunteer Fire Departments (VFDs). We aimed to train eight youth workers and rescuers from Poland and Romania in producing e-learning courses, increase first aid competences among 500 young people aged 14-30, and disseminate the course across Europe through an English-language version. The project also aimed to introduce an innovative teaching method, improve youth safety, and promote physical and mental health.
The project was implemented in response to the need to increase the competencies of young people and youth workers in first aid and modern educational methods. The main goal was to create a Gamified First Aid e-learning course and train eight youth workers and rescuers from Poland and Romania in the production of e-learning courses. The tool was used and disseminated in over 35 schools, youth organizations, NGOs, and social enterprises, as well as among over 2,000 young people and youth workers. The course was translated into English, making it available throughout Europe. The project positively impacted the health and safety of young people and introduced an innovative, interactive method for teaching first aid.
