The project aimed to achieve four main objectives: (1) to build awareness among teachers and students and increase their proficiency in understanding the potential and possibilities of Challenge-Based Learning in teaching and learning in a more engaging and effective way; (2) to develop a NextGen Entrepreneurs course for students of the consortium's universities, strengthening the exchange of experiences in the field of entrepreneurship education; (3) to provide teaching staff and personnel involved in quality assurance processes with methodology, tools, training and guidelines for the application of CBL in various areas of entrepreneurship education; and (4) support the development of digital competences of teachers and students by introducing tools and methods that increase engagement in the teaching and learning process. At the same time, the aim was to promote an inclusive approach and to create an ecosystem of resources, including an online platform, to enable the implementation and scaling of results.
We applied to implement this project because the partner institutions identified an urgent need to modernize teaching methods in line with contemporary challenges, particularly in the area of entrepreneurship teaching and learning. Analyses carried out during the project preparation stage indicated that the still dominant traditional teaching methods do not provide students with a sufficiently practical, engaging and interdisciplinary learning environment in which they can develop problem-solving, creativity and teamwork skills. Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) was identified as the answer to this need. At the same time, the need to support academic staff in designing and conducting CBL classes was articulated. The project involved the preparation of an entrepreneurship course implemented using the CBL methodology, together with a package of materials, tools and guidelines for lecturers, supported by an online platform to facilitate implementation, dissemination and transfer of results. In addition, the project addressed the need to strengthen international cooperation and learning in a multicultural environment so that the solutions developed could be applied and scaled up.
