Objectives

The three primary goals of the project are: 1. To prepare and test the feasibility of organising and implementing various IT training courses for immigrants (primarily women) from Ukraine in EU countries. 2. To explore the possibilities of cooperation with Ukrainian partners in the preparation and implementation of these courses. 3. To compile the conclusions from the activities carried out in the form of a publication entitled "The Strategy for Ukrainian Refugees through education in IT and the 4.0 industry area, suitable for implementation in ALL EU COUNTRIES". This publication contains a description of the activities carried out, lessons learned from successful and unsuccessful initiatives, a set of “good practices”, and warnings for anyone wishing to apply our solutions in other countries.

Background

All major Work Packages were launched as planned. The project was a response to the sharp increase in the number of Ukrainian immigrants who arrived in Poland and Central European countries following the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The unusual social structure of this refugee group (primarily women, older people, and children) quickly led to difficulties supporting the immigrants in foreign countries. When we planned the project in 2022, it seemed the most important task would not be emergency humanitarian aid but equipping refugees with tools to help them find independent work and a source of income in foreign countries. Training in broadly defined IT was an urgent need. Delays of approximately 3 months in the first year of the project’s duration, relative to the adopted schedule, were rectified in early 2025, except for social media promotion.
