Our first objective was to develop knowledge for creating Good Practice Plans (GPP) in AAS Programs, enhancing our ability to structure GPPs that gain international recognition and educate others. Our second objective was to promote cooperation to establish three high-quality international courses. By integrating ideas and expertise from our hosting partners, we aimed to identify the best teaching models, critical content, and key skills our learners should acquire.
The benefits of Animal-assisted activities and therapies (AAS) for vulnerable people and the success of these programs have generated a rise in demand for education on AAS worldwide. The education, competencies, and quality of work of teachers and learners about the latest Programs using companion animals for therapeutic and learning purposes is urgent. We expect to develop a cross-cutting profession, linking traditionally separated interests, such are the animals, environment, and Health.
