The project allow us to prepare school organization and to train educational personnel for the effective implementation of curricular flexibility in IVET. Through contact with more advanced European countries in the modernization of the IVET system, we want to be able to identify the changes to be introduced in the functioning of the school and in the pedagogical activities in order to materialize learning paths that are effectively flexible and centered on the students' profils.
IVET system face challenges related to the diversity of the public that today attend this training modality and to the urgency of responding to the demands of a changing world of work. Flexible training formats have been pointed out as potential solutions. Although Portuguese school already has the instruments to implement these flexible formats (DL 55 and DL 54 of 2018), obstacles remain on the ground that indicate that it is essential to prepare the school and train educational agents.
