Objectives

P.PORTO is currently the largest Polytechnic Institute in Portugal, bringing together 24 research centers, more than 21,800 students, 60 bachelor's degrees, 76 master's degrees, 35 Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP) and four doctoral programs. In 2024, it reached a relevant milestone by integrating doctorates into its training offer, in accordance with Law No. 16/2023, of April 10. With almost four decades of experience, P.PORTO has built a solid and diverse network of schools, services and specialized units. The eight schools that comprise it form the nucleus of an open, demanding and multicultural community, where cutting-edge laboratories and equipment become active centers of innovation and knowledge transfer. Regular participation in Erasmus+ mobility projects — on average three per academic year, whether in individual mobility (KA 131 and KA 171) or in a consortium — reinforces this dynamic, offering students opportunities for study and internship in an international context. These experiences favor the acquisition of transversal skills, stimulate international cooperation and contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of higher education. For P.PORTO, joining Erasmus+ represents more than student mobility. It enhances the professional development of its employees, organizational development in terms of internationalization and the creation of strategic partnerships with foreign institutions. The program also allows sharing good practices and generating innovative results, reinforcing P.PORTO's positioning in the European higher education space. Furthermore, Erasmus+ opens doors to the mobility of higher education and professional students, recent graduates and employees of the institution, expanding the network of learning experiences. Objectives of P.PORTO within the scope of Erasmus+: Academic and cultural mobility: providing study or internship experiences abroad, with direct contact with other cultures. Personal and professional development: encourage autonomy, adaptability, confidence and employability. Language skills: encourage the mastery and improvement of foreign languages. Internationalization of the curriculum: integrating global perspectives into academic training. Inclusion: ensuring equal access to students with fewer resources or specific needs. Teaching valorization: promote teaching and training in international institutions, with the exchange of innovative practices. Pedagogical innovation: adopting diverse and creative methodologies in teaching. Strengthening institutional cooperation: strengthening relationships with schools and universities in different countries. Creation of academic networks: consolidate research partnerships and joint projects. Employee training: provide training or job shadowing periods in foreign institutions. Modernization of academic management: implement more efficient organization models and services. Professional appreciation and motivation: foster an internationalized and recognized work environment.
