In the 21st century, cities play an increasingly strategic role, becoming central hubs of contemporary economic, social, and cultural dynamics. The growing concentration of populations in urban areas, combined with their capacity to drive technological innovation, positions cities as engines of global economic growth. At the same time, the cultural diversity, convergence of ideas, and creativity present in these spaces foster human development. However, urban challenges are also becoming more complex: social inequality, the need for adequate infrastructure, and the urgency of sustainable strategies require bold public policies that ensure inclusion and sustainability. In the context of climate change, cities also emerge as key players in implementing green solutions and promoting more environmentally conscious lifestyles. Their importance goes beyond the economic sphere, being crucial to building a more resilient and balanced future. In this context, the coordination between different actors, mobility, and the interaction between knowledge (research and teaching) and power (legislation and regulation) emerge as key areas for developing cities suited to their realities. For this reason, the consortium focuses specifically on these areas. Using a reflection–action–reflection approach, the consortium aims to strengthen active citizenship, promote social and territorial cohesion, and contribute to the attractiveness and competitiveness of the labor market. Activities carried out within the framework of mobility — and beyond — seek to enhance skills, knowledge, and abilities, stimulating innovation and quality within higher education institutions, partner organizations, and the cities themselves. The main objectives include preparing and raising awareness among students and other participants to address urgent urban challenges such as sustainability, inclusion, gentrification, and collective well-being. The project also aims to foster public debate and equip participants to implement effective policies, promoting cities that are more humane, inclusive, multicultural, and socially responsible. At the same time, the initiative seeks to prepare current and future generations to lead complex processes in an increasingly cosmopolitan, sustainable, and cohesive urban environment. Strengthening networks and cooperation is also a central goal, contributing to better living conditions in cities and building a fairer and more balanced urban future.
