Objectives

The implementation of the project enabled a total of 113 people to benefit from a mobility experience abroad, which had direct implications for enhancing their individual and professional experiences. For many trainees, the Erasmus mobility represented a first contact with professional life and the opportunity to complement and apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during their academic training. It also represented a chance to develop so-called 'soft skills', which employers consider essential and a factor of differentiation in recruitment processes: skills such as, among others, adaptability to multilingual and multicultural contexts, networking abilities, teamwork, working under pressure, and the development of leadership capacity. Teaching and non-teaching staff had the opportunity to be exposed to and experience new and diverse professional contexts and to engage in dialogue with their peers, sharing experiences and best practices, and strengthening pre-existing institutional ties. Staff mobilities, in the training modality, allowed for the acquisition of new knowledge and its subsequent application in professional contexts within their home institutions. Compared to the 2022 grant, the execution of the 2023 project was substantially better, with significant demand for internship mobilities, all of which were fully carried out. Regarding mobility for teaching and training missions, there was considerable interest from staff (both teaching and non-teaching). Of the 9 flows planned for teaching and training missions in the project under analysis, 12 teaching mission mobilities and 13 training mobilities were carried out. This successful execution is related to the fact that there were no longer as many overlapping financial projects which had previously occurred due to the extension of grant validity periods caused by the pandemic. A highlight of the 2023 grant was the Consortium's ability to once again hold the Open Day after the interruption caused by the pandemic, as well as the success of the BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) aimed at staff (teaching and non-teaching), focused on the theme of internal internationalization as a fundamental element for promoting inclusion and diversity — key concerns within the Erasmus+ Programme framework. The BIP was an excellent opportunity for joint reflection on the current challenges faced by the internationalization processes of European higher education institutions.
