Objectives

A Ensino e Investigação e Administração SA (E.I.A. SA) | Atlântica is a Portuguese private higher education institution that integrates two schools, namely Atlântica – University Institute and the Atlântica School of Health. Following the guidelines of the European Commission and the internationalisation policies defined for its schools, it has been steadily strengthening its commitment to internationalisation, involving not only students but the entire academic community, including professors and staff. This commitment has become evident in recent years through the continuous increase in grants awarded to KA131 action projects and mobilities carried out, as well as through participation as coordinator or partner in various other Erasmus projects (namely KA2) and other international initiatives/projects, such as Horizon, the Academic Network of Health Sciences, and PT2030. Under PT2030, a project in the field of internationalization has been approved, running until 2026, covering new markets, digital marketing, expansion in fairs, and missions. It is also worth highlighting that in the year this report is being prepared, 2025, E.I.A. SA applied for an Erasmus Mundus Design Measures project (PIGMENTS – PaInts and coatinGs: Material Engineering, desigN and innovative Technologies for Sustainability) and for a KA171 project, both of which were approved and are scheduled to be implemented between 2025 and 2027. Within the framework of KA131 projects, which are the focus of this report, the growth in grants received demonstrates one of E.I.A. SA core objectives: promoting the internationalization of its entire educational community. Atlântica regards this openness to the world as an essential tool for achieving teaching excellence and expanding the academic and professional opportunities of its students and staff. This process translates into a valuable exchange of pedagogical, scientific, and professional experiences, whose benefits extend not only to the direct participants but also to the entire academic community and, indirectly, to society. Students, professors, and staff have all actively benefited from this internationalization movement. To support this objective, the institution has been constantly seeking new partnerships with peer entities, not only in Europe but also in Africa and South America, by participating in international fairs and events that strengthen its cooperation network. In summary, the participation of E.I.A. SA | Atlântica in these mobility projects reflects its strong vocation for internationalization, enabling it to train students prepared for an increasingly globalized world and to ensure teaching excellence in line with the best higher education institutions.
