Objectives

ISAL is located on the island of Madeira, in the Atlantic Ocean. As an outermost region, it faces specific challenges associated with insularity. In this context, the Erasmus+ program is a valuable opportunity for ISAL to strengthen its international presence, stimulate collaboration between higher education institutions in different countries, promote cultural exchange, establish new strategic partnerships, participate in European projects, and contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness. In addition, this participation allows for the recognition of its courses and academic degrees at the European level, expanding its role in the modernization of higher education. Student mobility – both for periods of study and internships – is ISAL's main priority within Erasmus+, according to the study programs for the first cycles of studies. Our second priority is the mobility of teachers and staff. The positive feedback we have received over the years, both from students who visit us and those who leave for other institutions, reinforces our commitment to continuously improving the experience of participants. Joining Erasmus+ is in line with ISAL's internationalization strategy, which seeks to expand academic and professional mobility, as well as increase the number of partner universities involved.
