Objectives

The project aimed to increase students’ motivation and academic performance by encouraging the exchange of good practices among partner schools. We wanted to develop students’ social skills and help them use their surrounding environment as an active and interactive learning space. Another important objective was to promote sustainable environmental awareness and responsible behavior in nature. The project sought to strengthen students’ language abilities and digital literacy, while also supporting the development of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and organisational skills, especially for students with fewer opportunities. For teachers, the goal was to promote innovative teaching methods and to integrate more outdoor and project-based learning into everyday classroom practice.

Background

We applied for this project to respond to the decreased motivation, social confidence and collaboration skills observed among students after the pandemic. Many students had become isolated, over-dependent on digital communication and disconnected from nature and their local environments. The project aimed to rebuild social, expressive, cultural and linguistic skills through shared experiences, outdoor learning and international cooperation. Our goal was to offer students meaningful opportunities to work together, take initiative and become active, responsible citizens with a strong awareness of environmental sustainability. We also aimed to support teachers by providing new methods, tools and examples of non-formal outdoor activities that can be integrated into daily teaching. By strengthening cooperation between partner schools, we sought to broaden the European dimension of education, provide equal opportunities for students with fewer chances, and help less experienced schools gain confidence in Erasmus+ participation. Through this project, we wanted to reinforce community ties and promote a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable learning environment.
