Although young people play a central role in shaping our societies' future is widely recognised, they do not have the conditions to fulfil their full potential. In the European Union, young adults are a particularly vulnerable population, with 25.1% of young Europeans at risk of poverty and social exclusion (Eurostat, 2020). Young people with disadvantages are generally less active citizens and have less trust in institutions (EU Youth Strategy 2021-2027), and young Europeans are increasingly less participative in traditional political processes (Youth Participation Strategy, SALTO 2020). In this increasingly heterogeneous society, there is an urgent need to "learn to deal with diversity" and "create inclusive and cohesive societal systems". In this sense, the activities we have implemented with the 2022 Annual Funding Request and respective Accreditation meet the great need for quality responses appropriate to the needs and motivations of young people. Social Problem: Social exclusion of young people due to the obstacles preventing them from accessing opportunities fully and equally. Needs identified above: - Promote experiences that strengthen young people's, YW, and organizations' sense of belonging to the European project, fostering transnational cooperation and networking to promote the quality and effectiveness of youth work; - Create opportunities for the empowerment of young people (especially those with fewer opportunities) to promote their personal, social, intercultural and professional development so that they can be aware of, prepared for and involved in responding to current challenges; - Strengthen recognition of the role of young people and youth workers in promoting progress in public youth policies; - Create opportunities for youth workers' capacity building and organizational development, impacting the quality of interventions provided to young people; - To develop and share good practices in youth work, incorporating them into the daily lives of organizations; - Increase knowledge and accessibility to the Erasmus+ Programme, especially among youth workers and organizations with less experience and more difficulties in accessing it. Objectives of the Accreditation/Project: 1- Raise awareness among stakeholders (young people, YW, and organizations) about global citizenship, identity, values, priorities and European challenges; 2 - Promote opportunities to develop critical competencies that enable young people to overcome personal obstacles and change society through active participation. 3 - Promote the professional development of youth workers by empowering them to implement high-quality interventions with young people. 4 - Promote cooperative work by setting up and strengthening European youth work networks.
